Legendary ramen Mensho Tokyo arrives to Thao Dien, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam

This Tuesday when I was walking on Xuan Thuy street I noticed a new billboard by 67B Xuan Thuy with new ramen shop’s ads. My first thought was: “Haizz, OK, there is yet another ramen shop in Thao Dien.” “Mensho Tokyo – Real ramen has finally arrived to Viet Nam” – was written pompously on the billboard. I took few photos and decided to learn more about this ramen franchise and share with you. And wow! I was quite surprised when I started digging.

Mensho Tokyo Thao Dien is located on 67B Xuan Thuy just between “Hua Cafe” and one more opening spot “the 350F” in front of BIDV bank’s branch & a Mexican restaurant “District Federal”.

History of Mensho Tokyo Thao Dien

Mensho was founded in 2005 in Tokyo by Tomoharu Shono. Almost 20 years ago! O_O I can’t stop getting surprised how old Japanese companies are, e.g. Nintendo and Sony were founded in 1889 and 1946 (yes-yes, just after WW II) respectively. At the same time ramen shop “Mensho Tokyo” won’t be the oldest ramen franchise in Thao Dien. The first Daben Ramen Shop was founded in 2000.
